I am on day 4 of documenting a week in my life. You can check out days 1 – 3 here. I have really been enjoying paying attention to the moments that make up my day and capturing them each day. It really helps me to be present and consciously live each moment.
So, Sunday!
We had a really great day today!
SJ woke up at 6 am and asked for milk. You might think “oh how annoying!” but I was actually quite pleased. Normally, she asks to be nursed in the morning. I am currently trying to gentle wean her off breastmilk and I think we are getting there. The last time I nursed her was yesterday morning – almost 48 hours ago!
The morning
We had no church this morning so we spent the morning at home. I made porridge for breakfast and put on a big pot of coffee.
SJ and I popped by my parent’s house briefly before they headed out for a hike. While we were gone, Edd cleaned the bathroom and mopped our floors.
The rest of the morning was spent doing little bits around the house, reading books and playing. I made dough for sourdough crackers and baked cookies.
It was my first time trying out sourdough cookies and they are SO good! I used this recipe, super easy and quick. I reduced the sugar by 20 grams and used almonds instead or hazelnuts (just because that’s what I had in my pantry).
Nap-time / re-charge time
During SJs nap, I enjoyed some of the sunshine on our balcony and continued with my “Growing in Grace” Bible Study by the Daily Grace Co. The study focuses on spiritual disciplines. I am finding it very inspiring and helpful so far!
Originally I had planned on exercising first thing and washing my hair. As that hadn’t happened I was grateful for my trusted dry shampoo! I did my hair, washed my face, went through my skin care-routine and put on make-up.
The afternoon
Afterwards I read until SJ woke from her nap. We then quickly got ready and headed to my Nephew’s birthday party. He celebrated at a soft play centre. SJ had never been and we kind of expected that she wouldn’t like it. It’s very noisy and a bit overwhelming. However, she LOVED it.
We had lots of fun going down a huge slide with her, climbing, jumping and running around. Plus there was cake, chips and ice cream. Basically heaven for our toddler!
Evening
Back at home, Edd bathed SJ while I sorted through a few books in the basement. We then had some cuddles, milk and stories, before I put SJ to bed.
The rest of the evening I read my book. I have one chapter left right now which I am hoping to finish before I fall asleep.
What a great weekend! I hope you all had many happy moments and a great start to the new week!
This is Day 62 of my 100 Day Project. You can learn more about my 100 day project by reading this post. If you want to do your own 100 day Project, I would recommend checking out the 100 Day Project website.
I love hearing your thoughts and input on what you most like to read on here. It would mean so much if you would fill out my very short reader survey. Thank you!
