Life Lately: today was HARD. SJ was even more ill than yesterday and basically just wanted me to carry her around or nap in my arms. I barely slept last night because she was waking up so much. So I was very tired, had a headache and my patience was wearing quite thin. Not quite how I had envisioned my holiday!
One of my goals with this 100 Day Project is to preserve memories, to capture my life as it is right now. It will be a lovely reminder for my future self. In addition, I am hoping it is also of benefit to present-day-you. I believe that sharing creates connection. Moments of feeling seen and understood.
So, here’s a bit of my life lately:
Eating the first Easter chocolates of the season!
Drinking Beck’s Blue and Radler (Lager mixed with lemonade) in the evenings. The rest of the day lots of coffee.
Reading My Dark Vanessa which is quite a difficult read. While I was “nap-trapped” today I also finished Circe by Madeleine Miller. It was a great book. I am sure I will discuss both of these in more detail in my next reading report.
Listening to some of my favourite bands these past couple of weeks. Specifically, the Staves and The Head and the Heart. Also, two of my friends have just brought out a worship album. SJ and I listen to it most mornings, it’s really good!
Writing these blogs every day and in my journal a couple of times each week. It brings me so much joy still!
Sewing a little bit on my Ness Skirt. I made some good progress last week but still need a few hours to finish the last steps. I made a few mistakes but I think it is still turning out to be quite a nice skirt!
Knitting a bit less these last few days. Most of my free time is spent blogging. However, I did finish a pair of socks (with lots of intricate colour work) yesterday.
Feeling very tired and run down and disappointed about my cancelled holiday plans. However, I am also feeling quite inspired lately. Being creative always leaves me with more creative ideas, which I love.
Planning meals for the next few days and what blog post to write tomorrow. Nothing much further than that right now.
In awe of how much SJ is learning every day. She repeats so many words all the time, runs up the hill in the garden and climbs up everywhere. She does puzzles and builds towers and is just such a joy.
Thinking about safety versus freedom. About evangelicalism. And about Greek Mythology.
Looking forward to spring and summer. I love that the days are getting longer and warmer and seeing the trees starting to bloom.
Dreaming of running again. I still have some pelvic pain but just downloaded a couch to 5k app and am hoping to very slowly build up my running again. We will see!
This is Day 22 of my 100 Day Project. You can learn more about my 100 day project by reading this post. If you want to do your own 100 day Project, I would recommend checking out the 100 Day Project website.
