Monday
I had quite a productive morning! I did some laundry, went for a run, washed my hair, hoovered and mopped the kitchen. I was supposed to have a work meeting but it got cancelled. I was actually relieved as it gave me a chance to finish off some chores and sit down and knit for 10 minutes before going to pick up the girls.
We spent the afternoon at our local park with some new friends. It was a really lovely time together! However, L managed to get herself completely wet and muddy – you can’t turn your back on this child for one second! Ha.
I had my small group in the evening but L was crying so much at home that I needed to leave early. She was super congested and coughed lots and just needed her Mama.

Tuesday
Ls nose was practically streaming with snot so I kept her home from nursery. She, my mum and I did a big round of shopping and errands – we went to the post office, pharmacy, the farmers market, to two grocery shops and the drug store. It took all morning!
Back home, L slept and I cleaned our fridge and then had a very delicious lunch.
SJ was at a birthday party in the afternoon. All by herself! It makes me both proud and sad at the same time!
L and I played and did laundry before picking up her sister together.

Wednesday
I am very grateful that Edd is home this week. It made being home with a sick kid a lot easier! He adjusted his schedule so that I was able to join an online prayer meeting and go for a swim. It was a great start to my day!
L and I visited my dad and we tried to practice some of our songs. However, L kept telling me to stop singing! Haha.
The afternoon was uneventful, L started feeling a lot worse, so we just played at home.

Thursday
I’m a bit done to be honest. We’ve had a number of very bad nights in a row and I am so tired. A clingy, whiny toddler isn’t helping either!
I tried to fix my sewing machine today and first thought I had managed but then the problem re-emerged. Very frustrating.
L and I picked SJ up together and it was really sweet watching them play together and SJ proudly showing off her little sister.
In the afternoon we played outside for a bit and then just hung out in the flat. When Edd got home from work I went for a run. I did some intervals and the sun was setting over the Rhine and it was so good for my mental state to move my body and spend time outside.
Edd met up with friends in the evening, I lread on my kindle and knitted. After being in such a bad mood this morning it turned into a good day in the end!

Friday
Another morning of cancelled plans due to L being ill. It was okay though. We did some laundry, played with duplo and made pizza dough together. In the afternoon it was the girls’ gym class which was good fun. After taking them home I headed out for my own exercise class. I attended for the first time and really enjoyed myself. I think I will feel my muscles tomorrow!
I felt so good afterwards and Edd and I had a great time eating pizza and watching the Traitors.

Saturday
Once again, the day started super early. I really hope that this phase of L waking up between 5 and 6 each morning will end soon!
However, the advantage was that by 10 am we were dressed, had breakfast, read books and had a batch of muffins baked.
I cycled into the village to run a few errands and go to the library to look at their craft books.
Back home I put L for her nap and then finished sewing my top!! I am so happy to finally have it completed.
In the afternoon, SJ was invited to a birthday party. L and I joined her and we had a really fun time.
I was super tired afterwards though, so Edd and I headed to bed early and read and talked about the political situation in the US. Scary what’s happening there right now.

Sunday
We had such a good morning! Some of our friends from church had us over for the most amazing brunch. It was so lovely to spend time and get to know each other better.
This afternoon we visited my parents to drink coffee and play. I then took the girls outside for a little bit, so they could play on their bike and scooter.
Edd and I watched the Traitors final tonight and it was amazing! I also made some progress on my socks!

A good week in the end
This week L was ill, which meant lots of cancelled plans. I got no work done, am behind with chores and didn’t get enough sleep. But I managed to squeeze in two runs, a swim and go to a workout class. Plus, I finally finished my top! And we hung out with new and old friends. Overall, I would call it a pretty good week!
