It’s been quite a while since I have written anything on here, let alone one of these weekly highlight posts. I love the practice of documenting small snippets of my life and having a record of what I have been doing, reading and thinking. So here we are!
It’s been pretty good week. The weather is getting rather cold but I was mostly dry, which makes a big difference for me – I feel so much better whenever we’re able to spend time outside. However, the week before last my bike got stolen which was pretty devastating. And it meant I was doing all of the nursery pick-ups by car, which isn’t my favourite.
Edd has a nasty cold/flu type virus, so he’s been mostly out of action. SJ was also home two mornings as she wasn’t feeling one hundred percent, but I am grateful that the girls and I are healthy overall.
Here a few highlights:
- SJ learned to ride her bike two weeks ago and she is now obsessed with riding everywhere! Last Monday when she stayed home, we picked up L with me pushing the buggy and she riding her bike and it was so fun. I am so proud of her and cannot wait to do little cycling tours with her.
- On Monday SJ had a playdate at some of our friends and we ate dinner all together and it was super lovely.
- I got a haircut! It’s been a whole year since I have last been to the hairdresser and I was so ready to get rid of my split ends and try something new. It’s probably the shortest hair I have had so far and I love it a lot!

- I know that not every parent enjoys spending time at the playground but I LOVE it. We always meet some friends, the girls tend to be in good moods and often entertain themselves quite well. And we’re outdoors! We spent time at the playground on Tuesday and Friday and as always had a lovely time.
- On Wednesday we made the most of the nice weather by doing a bit of work in the garden – we got rid of the tomato and cucumber plants and weeded the beds.
- My dad came by one morning to check in with SJ who was home sick and we had a spontaneous jam session practicing a few new songs together – making music always makes me feel good!

- My heart expands everytime I catch my girls playing together. As L gets older they spend more and more time together, often making each other laugh but now also building towers or pushing their babies in their buggys through our flat.
- A library trip is always a good idea! I let SJ go up to the counter to return or check out books and she is so proud and the staff are very amused by all her chatter. L is also a big lover of books, so we all have a great time!
- The weekend was spent seeing family, going to church, watching Formula One and Stranger Things. I also made quite a bit of progress on my current knitting project – the Sailor Swift Top by Kutovakika.
- I finished listening to Babel by R.F. Kuang. What a book! It was amazing and the audiobook narration was really well done, I enjoyed it a lot.
