2nd – 8th of March
Monday
We’re back! We landed late last night and slept in a bit this morning. Little L was exhausted so I kept her home, SJ was super excited for Kindergarten, so I just dropped her off slightly later than usual.
L and I played outside for a bit and did some grocery shopping. I also tried to unpack while she napped.
We picked up SJ from Kindergarten and headed to our local soft play centre. SJs best friend from Kindergarten is sadly moving away and she had a little farewell party there.
We had a lovely time but it was also quite sad to say goodbye.
Edd returned late in the evening. We’d only spent 24 hours apart but I was really glad to have him home!

Tuesday
On Tuesday I tried to catch up with admin and chores and washing. In the afternoon SJ visited a friend, L and I spend some time in the garden, doing laundry and playing. I checked on my plants and got excited about my rhubarb. The weather was amazing, it felt so good to finally get some sunshine after weeks of rain.

Wednesday
On Wednesday morning I had my sewing class. Those two and a bit hours are like a holiday for my mind. It’s such a nice group of women who are all so creative and I love being able to learn more about sewing and get inspired.
The weather was gorgeous so after pick up the girls and I headed straigt to the park. We had a picknick and I knitted a few rounds while the girls drove around on their bike and scooter. So lovely. Later, some of our friends joined us and the kids really enjoyed hanging out together. However, L cried a lot and didn’t really want to play anything. We eventually decided to head home as she was so unhappy. I discovered she had a fever of 39,6 – so not surprising that she didn’t want to go down the slide!
In the evening I met online with some other mums from church to pray together. We do this every Wednesday night, but due to traveling I hadn’t joined the previous weeks and it was so good for my soul to be back.

Thursday
On Thursday SJs kindergarden was closed and L stayed home due to being ill. We cycled to Lidl to buy some pizzas as the girls wanted that for their lunch. Back home we played and ate. In the afternoon we walked and cycled back into the village for SJs dance class. L and I walked back home and saw my mum for a little bit. Edd went out for dinner and I planted a little bit of cress, put on a new batch of Kefir and then read. I started with “Cleopatra and Frankenstein” which is our current book club read. I am really loving it so far.

Friday
I felt quite run down on Friday with a very snotty nose and sore throat. Both girls were home with me as well. So, for the most part I just did the bare minimum. We ate leftover pizza for breakfast and during Ls nap SJ and I baked some chocolate chip cookies which was rather fun. In the afternoon I took the girl to their gym class. I cycled there and it was good to get some fresh air and leave the house for a bit.

Saturday
I had multiple things in my diary for Saturday morning and in the end decided to do none of them and instead have a relaxeed morning at home. I took L outside with me and just did an hour of weeding. I love doing little gardening tasks – it’s so meditative and being outdoors is just the number one thing to boost my mood.
We had a really wonderful afternoon meeting up with my small group and all of our families on our friend’s farm. We made waffles, went for a walk with their donkeys and then had a BBQ. Such a perfect afternoon. I felt very filled up!

Sunday
Sunday was a full but lovely day. We headed to church early as I was leading the kid’s service for the younger kids. We had 11 children and it was a bit mad but also lovely. After church, my mum, the girls and I drove to visit my dad. He had a knee surgery and is in a facility now where he gets lots of physio and other treatments to make sure everything heals the way it should. We had a really nice afternoon with an outdoor picknick and a trip to a big but very busy playground.
From there we drove to our local polling station as it was election day! I voted, we drove home, had dinner and then put the girls to bed. Edd and I hung out for a bit which was very nice and I sewed a little bit before going to bed early.
