Life Lately – March 2026

3 min read

Lately, I have been…

Eating lots of chickpeas. Yesterday I had a wrap with chickpeas and spinach for lunch and a cauliflower sweet potato and chickpea curry for dinner. All of it was very delicious.

Drinking cocktails! I got Edd a cocktail mixing set for his birthday and we have enjoyed trying different drinks.

Knitting the final rounds of my Sailor Swift top and on a watch cap hat. (More about both those projects here.)

Sewing small patchwork experiments, scrunchies and another long-sleeve top.

Finally learning more embroidery stitches. I am following an embroidery pattern with some spring flowers on it and it’s actually really addictive!

Watching lots of videos by “From Carly B”. I love her style and creative approach. Feeling immensely inspired!

Listening to a lot more music lately. I have been enjoying Harry Styles new album quite a lot. I’m also catching up on old podcast episodes from “Love to sew”. And wishing I could relinquish all my responsibilities and just sew all day!

Celebrating Edd’s birthday! His actual birthday was while he was in the Uk but we had some family celebrations on Wednesday and yesterday some friends came over for drinks and games and it was such a good evening.

Spending time with my good friend Holly. She is currently visiting from the UK and I love having her around so much.

Waiting for warmer weather. It has gotten really cold again lately.

Reading “Theo of Golden”. I only just started and heard mixed reviews – some were raving others not too impressed. We shall see! I am also listening to “What the wind knows” for my book club. Everyone else seems to love it but it’s not for me I think. The story has a time-traveling element which I just generally find uninteresting.

Wearing me-made items as often as I can! It just fills me with so much excitement to dress in something I sewed or knitted. Also, me leo-print dungarees are still one of my favourite items of clothing I have ever owned! (Not me-made though.)

Writing a sermon about rest. Learning so much and really enjoying diving deep into a topic. I am nervous about delivering it in a few weeks but optimistic!

Stressed by various issues with my website lately.

Considering moving my blog to substack because of it. Thoughts?

Feeling quite exhausted and a bit low these days. However, I am also super inspired and full of ideas. It’s a weird mix.

Trying to be kind to myself even on the days where I am low on energy, not the best mother, unorganised and forgetful. This season of life confronts me so much with my own limitations and weaknesses and it’s challenging but good to see myself as flawed, yet loved.

Grateful for my husband and my girls. We have such a good life.
