Life Lately – January 2026

3 min read

Lately, I’ve been…

Eating lots of plant-based dinners. My word for the year is “Return” and I felt inspired to come back to some of my favourite vegan recipes.

Drinking all the coffee – as always. Edd and I are also still making our way through our advent teas, which I am rather enjoying.

Watching the Traitors with Edd. We are completely obsessed!

Recently discovered the Eels. I tried to find a good weekend playlist and came across their song “Saturday Morning” and immediately loved it. I then listened through the whole album and it was such a delight.

Slowly trying to wean L off of breastfeeding. We were down to only one feed a day but now she is ill and it’s the only thing that keeps her kind of happy. Oh well!

Knitting on my advent socks and the Sailor Swift top.

Sewing nothing right now – I really need to figure out what’s wrong with my sewing machine, especially as my sewing class starts next week.

Getting excited for the 100 Day Project. I am not sure yet what I will do but I always love the creativity this project sparks. In case you‘re intrigued – you can learn more about this awesome project here.

Enjoying our church‘s online prayer meetings that happen early in the morning twice a week.

Loving sunny winter days. It’s been really cold but the sun has been shining lots and there is something so beautiful about the light this time of year.

Wearing many of my hand-knit items due to the cold. Wearing something I made myself makes me so happy!

Proud of myself for having gone on three runs in the last 10 days. I am hoping to run again today, but L is at home ill, so we will see if I can fit it in somehow.

Listening to “Dream Count“ by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. She’s one of my favourite authors but I am not sure yet how I feel about this book. I also just finished listening to “ A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles and loved it so much.

Feeling emotional about L turning two years old next week. Time goes so quickly! However, I love this age. She is so funny and her talking is getting really good and her and SJ are such good pals. Being their Mama makes me so happy.

Excited about my life. It’s very simplistic – I don’t do anything impressive or overly exciting. But I so enjoy my days, filled with simple pleasures and wonderful people and this meaningful task of raising my kids. Maybe I enjoy it so much because I know it’s a short season. But I’m so grateful for it!
