Life Lately – April 2023

3 min read

First of all: thank you to everyone who filled in my reader survey! Reading your responses was so helpful and encouraging. If you haven’t done so yet – it is a very quick, four question survey and I would love to hear your opinions on the type of posts you enjoy most. You can do so here.

One of my favourite things about blogging is to capture what life is like right now. The things I love, what I am reading and listening to and thinking about. These are really the things that make each day special but are so easily forgotten.

Lately, I have been…

Eating the first strawberries of the season! I normally don’t eat breakfast but the last few days I kept waking up very hungry so I made porridge with coconut yogurt and a bit of fruit. Paired with some coffee – perfect!

Drinking nothing special. Just water and decaf coffee.

Wearing more make-up than just my usual mascara. Getting dressed and putting on a bit of make-up somehow makes me feel motivated for the day.

Reading too many books at once. The other day I started “Life of Pi” by Yann Martel for my book club. I am about 100 pages into “Mrs England” by Stacey Halls. I also just picked up a German book about re-thinking some faith and theology questions by Martin Benz called “Wenn der Glaube nicht mehr passt – Ein Umzugshelfer“.

Listening to the Go + Tell Gals podcast. When I am with SJ it is “Aramsamsam” and “If you are happy and you know it” on repeat.

Grateful for friendship, spring and sunshine.

Excited that I have been able to do a workout this morning without any pelvic pain. It seems to finally get a bit better and I am so happy.

Looking forward to Edd being home. He has been away since Tuesday morning and won’t come back until next week Saturday. We miss him!

Enjoying having my friend Lisa stay. We are having the BEST time.

Planning to take SJ to some fun playgrounds on the weekend.

Knitting on a little romper for a baby. I am almost finished!

Sewing hair bobbles. I am on a mission to use up fabric scraps and small projects are my jam right now. It’s just very satisfying to be able to finish something during one nap time window.

Thinking about what sourdough recipe to try next. I am probably going to do some baking tomorrow!

Feeling very happy. I am excited about spring and the future and just very grateful for this good life. I feel quite humbled by all the good things God has given me. Life is good!

Have a wonderful day!
