The last time I shared an update of my creative projects was April! Quite a while ago.
However, there’s not many finished objects to show despite so much time having passed. But with two kids there’s definitely even less time to make! I’m not complaining though.
Finished projects
Another Goldkind romper
This was the third Goldkind romper I made. It’s such a lovely pattern! This one was for my friend’s baby. She has sent me some pictures of her little girl wearing it and she looks extremely cute!
The pattern is by Mats und Ida, who have a number of cute baby patterns. I used Merinoull by Sandnes Garn which was lovely to work with.
First impression pants
Another baby knit for another friend! This time for a little boy. I made the First Impression Pants by Drops Design. They turned out super cute but it was a lot of knitting for such a small garment! It’s all over rib, so it was a lot of purling.
However, I might make another pair of these in a bigger size for L. Probably for next winter though…
Works in progress
Hinterland dress
I cut this out back in April but then didn’t have bias tape in the right colour and then lost momentum. I only picked this back up just before our trip to the UK. I need to finish the button placket, gather and attach the skirt and then hem the dress. Not too much left to do, but sewing button holes is always a tricky endeavour!
Copenhagen Cardigan
I had basically finished knitting this, all that was left were buttons. However, I had made the cardigan quite a bit longer than the pattern intends. (I just wanted to use up all my lovely lambs wool!) But with the garment being longer the pockets ended up being way too high up and it looked very odd.
So, I frogged half the cardigan and started knitting again! I am currently re-doing the second pocket (about 10 cm lower down than originally). It’s a fun knit and I think I will love wearing it, so the extra mile feels worth it!
Nellike blanket
This is really nice and easy to knit on but the progress is very slow! I cast on the Nellike blanket in the summer and think I have about a quarter now. It’s hard to say though.
I haven’t knitted much on this in recent weeks as it feels more like a warmer weather knit, the yarn is cotton and very light weight.
Little Tulip Jumper
Both the blanket and the Cardigan are quite bulky by this point and didn’t fit into my suitcase when we traveled to England, so I cast on a new project: The little Tulip!
I’m really enjoying working on this, I love knitting raglan tops. I have a suspicion that it might be a bit small for SJ in which case I will probably start over. I have enough yarn and I especially bought it for SJ, as her favourite colour is red!
Here’s to lots of making in 2025!
I’m excited to work on all these lovely projects and am hoping I will get to do lots of knitting and sewing in 2025!
