In terms of crafting 2026 has begun rather well! I have felt really inspired to make things and my head is full of ideas. Winter is the perfect time for knitting and crafting in my opinion and I feel like I have made the most of all the dark evenings.
Let me show you!
Finished objects
I finished a few things I talked about in last month’s project update plus a few other things.
My Hiedra headband
I now have a matching set of mittens and a headband! I really love the look of them!
The pattern is by Fiber Tales and the yarn I used is Isager Spinni held double with Isager Alpaca 2. It’s a bit itchy, I will try and wash it and see if that will soften it up!
However, despite the scratchiness I still love how this project turned out!

My advent socks
Last month I was already fairly close to being done with these fun socks but when I tried them on they were too big for my feet. So, I unravelled the entire leg, the heel and the gusset and begun again.
Now, they are finally finished and I really like them! I normally don’t knot the socks of my legs as long. But as I wanted to have all of the 24 stripes I kept going and I really like it actually. Especially for cold days on the playground these are so great at keeping my legs nice and warm.
Both the pattern and the yarn I used are by The Cozy Knitter.

My Leo top
I finally finished sewing my Leo top and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. If I was to sew it again I would make it slightly shorter and go for a straighter shape, rather than the A-line.However, all in all, I really like it!

A small appliqué experiment
As previously mentioned, I am currently planning out my 100 Day Project. For this purpose I wanted to refresh my needle-turn appliqué skills and made this little piece. I am not sure what I am going to make with it (maybe turn it into coasters?) but it was really fun to play with another craft.

Practicing embroidery
With similar thoughts in mind I made this small embroidery piece! It’s by no means perfect but it gave me the data I needed: I enjoy embroidery, however it takes longer than I thought and I need to use lines next time I do some written stitching, otherwise the spacing is too uneven. Despite its imperfections I really like it and I think will hang it up somewhere in our flat.

Works in progress (wips)
I don’t have lots of wips at the moment which I quite happy about. With the 100 Day Project coming up I would like to have finished most other projects.
A striped top
Last week was the first session of the sewing class I have signed up to. I am very excited to expand my sewing skills and especially have someone to turn to when I run into fitting issues.
I decided to make the same long-sleeve top pattern but with a few adjustments. So far, all I have done is cut the project out and mark the fabric. I am hoping to do a bit of sewing on it before the next class so that I can finish it soon and then do maybe a more involved project.

The Sailor Swift top
When you look at the photo you might think I made zero progress on this – but I worked on it a lot! After trying it on I realised that I didn’t like how big it was turning out. So, I unraveled the entire thing and started again. A lot of unraveling this month!
I have just joined the front and back so will be able to try it on properly soon. It’s still really fun to knit on, even the second time round!

That’s all for this month! The 100 Day Project starts on the 22nd of February, I am sure I will check back in here to inform you of my plans and keep you posted on how they are going!
What are you working on these days?
