It’s the first of April. How crazy is that? The first quarter of 2026 has passed and I thought this was a good time to check in with my goals for 2026.
You might have picked up on the fact that I am rather enthusiastic about setting goals. However, often those goals are very relective of the things that are important to me in that moment. Often, as time goes by, seasons change my focus and priorities do the same. That is normal and okay! When evaluating my goals I don’t just want to ask “what progress have I made?” but also “is this still important to me? Or something to let go off?” Goals are a tool to serve me, not the other way around!
Faith + Spirituality goals
Less podcasts and audiobooks – more silence and more music.
Check. I am definitely doing this. And it’s been great! However, I also miss my podcasts and being immersed in an audiobook. This is a prime example of not being able to do it all. My day is not long enough to have meaningful silences, listen to music, all the podcast episodes that interest me and also a book. I have to choose. And there are seasons for one and seasons for the other.
Pray more for others.
Well, I am not sure I will ever get to a point where I am praying so much that I would say “okay, I am praying enough and don’t need to pray more than I do now.” There is definitely still a lot of room for growth here. But I think I am making progress! So that’s positive I’d say.
Engange with Scripture every single day.
I love the Bible. It is the most fascinating book I have ever read. Most days I do read a chapter or so, but definitely not every single day. Again, I am making progress but there is still al ot of room for growth.

Marriage + Parenting goals
Monthly date night
We’re getting better at this!
Do something special (go away for a night or two maybe?) for our 10-year anniversary.
The Hotel is booked!! And I am so excited!
Read one parenting book and one marriage book.
So far, I haven’t done either but there is still 9 months left to tackle this!
Take the girls to the woods at least once a month.
Oh gosh. I think we haven’t even been once. I definitely still want to do this though.

Blogging goals
One post per week.
I think I have more or less managed this. (Often even two posts per week!) I had a little break while we were travelling but otherwhise I have managed to stay fairly consistent. Which brings me lots of joy!
Health + Fitness goals
Complete a 5k running plan
I almost did this and then got a bit over confident and ran too much and my knee hurt for about 3 weeks. Taking things slow is hard. But I am still determined!
Swim once a week or do a 30-minute HIIT workout at home and do Yoga once a week.
Nah. I have been for a few swims but no where near weekly and have done zero home workouts and only very little yoga. However, I have signed up to an exercise class that runs once a week a few weeks ago.

Learning + reading
Read 52 books.
So far, I have only read about 7 or 8, so I am quite behind on this. Listening to less audiobooks is very noticeable here! I want to read more books with my eyes but I find it harder to find the time.
Hobbies + Creativity
Do my sewing homework for my sewing class.
So far I am a model student I would say! Ha!
Complete a free-motion quilting project
Not yet, but I am highly motivated!
Knit one summer top and one jumper.
I am very close to finishing my summer top! And I am currently trying to decide what jumper I want to cast on first: The Jean Sweater or the Halibut. Any opinions?
Practice piano and guitar at least once a week.
So far, this hasn’t happened. There are not enough hours in the day!

Home + Garden goals
Declutter each room in our house.
No progress to report on as of yet…
Get a shelf in our kitchen for the girls’ crafts supplies and a comfortable chair for my office.
With everything getting so expensive at the moment we have shied away from big purchases. So, not yet.
Grow zinnias, cucumbers and strawberries in our garden. And maybe some spinach.
I need to get on it! So far, I haven’t planted anything.
Concluding thoughts
It’s nice to see that all of my goals are still relevant to me. It shows me, that I know myself quite well and am less prone to getting swept up in loads of random ideas.
There has been a lot of action and progress in some areas and not so much in others. It’s been really helpful for me to take this moment to take stock and notice that. I now know that I really need to get on it with planting some stuff or at least look into when to plant what. I will assess when I can make time to practice guitar and piano. And I am going to pick some parenting and marriage books to read. Plus, possibly find a new balance in my listening that allows for both music and audiobooks.
