A week in my life // Saturday: Life Lately

5 min read

In case you missed it, I am currently documenting a week in my life along with Ali Edwards and her community. Here are my posts for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

What life looks like lately

Our Saturday wasn’t all that eventful so instead of giving a detailed account of our day I thought I would just share a few photos and share a bit of what I have been reading, watching, eating and thinking about lately!

Saturday in images

Lately, I have been…

Eating strawberries from our garden and blueberries from the shop. On their own or with coconut yogurt.

Drinking cold brew tea, sparkling water, coffee and Cola Weizen.

Wearing my new Lucy and Yak animal print dungarees. I love them so much!

Enjoying the cozy weather this week. I am looking forward to hotter temperatures to come and pool trips but I do love summer rain!

So proud of my girls. Watching them grow and learn and make friends and love each other is the greatest privilege.

Getting back into learning about the enneagram. I read a number of books on it a couple of years ago but kind of forgot about it a little bit. Recently I met a bunch of people who are also very into it which has inspired me to pick up some books and podcasts on the topic. I am going down the rabbit hole with great enjoyment!

Stuck in a creative slump. If you have read my posts this week you might have picked up on the fact that I am a bit run down and depleted. I haven’t knitted or sewn anything in over three weeks which is very odd for me.

Reading a lot though! Audiobooks are still my favourite way of consuming books these days. I am currently listening to “The Latecomer” which is excellent! It will be my 27th book this year.

Celebrating Edd’s new job! Amazing how a closed door can feel so terrible but then force you to try out other paths that end up being even better.

Excited for this new season and being able to plan again!

Grateful for this project which has helped me to sit down and reflect and write. It feels hard to do this at the moment but also good. But the things that are good for us often don’t come easy, right?

Wasting time playing tetris type games. It’s a symptom of being extremely low on energy. Kind of fun though! Also, I am learning that it’s okay to sometimes do something that is a “waste of time”. I normally try to fill every second of my day with learning or productivity and feel bad when I don’t. Maybe Tetris is teaching me that I am allowed to relax a little!

Singing Yes and Amen” by Maverick City. We were singing it a lot at the church camp last week and it’s been stuck in my head since. Such a great song!

Lately SJ…

Is playing lots with her doll, her cuddly toys and her doctor’s bag. She listens to their hearts and tummies with her stethoscope and hands out plasters and bandages and builds beds with all duvets, blankets and pillows she can find for all her babies and patients.

Loves being responsible for our neighbours pets while they are away. I love how much she cares about those little creatures.

Now also watches Gabby’s Dollhouse in addition to her all-time favourite Peppa Pig and Cocomelon.

Wants me to read her Bible Stories every evening which I love.

Lately, Lulu…

Says „Mama, Mama, Mamaaaaa“ hundred times a day. When I say „Yes?“ she then babbles something incomprehensible and very cute or points to any food nearby.

Really enjoys looking at books. She doesn’t say many words yet but she can do quite a few animal noises, like „quack quack“ or „miau“.

Is a big fan of climbing up stuff and going down slides.
