100 days!

4 min read

You guys. We made it! 100 days of daily blog posts. I know I have said this before, but I really didn’t expect to manage to do this without any missed days.

I am proud and happy and so grateful for this 100 Day Project.

In the past I had many attempts at similar projects and failed every time. It made me curious about what was different this time.

As a working mum it isn’t easy to commit and stick with something. Life is unpredictable, toddlers get ill regularly and like to pass on their germs to their parents. SJ is still not sleeping through the night so I am often tired. And yet, I managed to make time to write and upload.

So, how?

What was different this time? How did I manage to do this thing for 100 days in a row?

A specific goal but with wide enough parameters

I think blogging 100 days in a row was a good goal. It was specific: I knew I had to sit down everyday, write and upload the post to my blog. Initially, I was considering to just do 100 days of “content” – blog posts, Instagram posts or videos etc. I think this would have been to varied. Seeing all of the posts accumulate on my blog was satisfying. And I didn’t need to decide every day whether I would write for the blog or Insta or do a video.

At the same time, the goal left a lot of freedom. I didn’t stipulate what topics to write about or how long each post needed to be. My aim was to write, to share my thoughts. About deeper issues, faith and motherhood and marriage, as well as about fun lifestyle things like gardening and books and the things I did everyday.

I really love writing

The other and probably more important reason I kept going for 100 days is: I love writing. It helps me to process my own opinions, things that happen to and around me. And stringing words and sentences together just brings me joy.

I love language. I am passionate about communicating clearly. And using all this to connect with other humans and learning about their lives and struggles and interests is such a pleasure to me.

I knew that I love writing when I started this project but not quite how much. Doing this 100 Day Project has made me learn more about me and what I want. Which is so great.

What is next?

So, what now? To be honest, I am not really sure. I guess I could just keep going. But I will take a few days off from the blog and social media.

I will definitely keep blogging! Not every single day, but I do want to maintain a regular rhythm – like one or two posts a week. Or more? We will see!

Otherwise, I am dreaming of starting a podcast one day and I would like to be more intentional about using my social media. However, I won’t make any specific plans today.

Also, I would actually quite like to start another 100 Day Project. I am not sure what I would do. Either way, I would certainly report on my progress here on the blog.

Please keep in touch!

I would love to hear from you – what you enjoyed most and what you would love to read/hear/see from me and this space in the future.

Also, it’s the most encouraging to me when people sign up to my email list. I don’t send lots of newsletters at the moment but would certainly let you know about my future plans there once I have figured them out.

This is Day 100 (!!!) of my 100 Day Project. You can learn more about my 100 day project by reading this post. If you want to do your own 100 day Project, I would recommend checking out the 100 Day Project website.
